noisy fanzine

noisy issue 6 Noisy! Fanzine is an independently published, printed magazine promoting the live and unsigned music scene in the county of Essex, England. The first issue appeared in May 2005, and featured news, gig and demo reviews, interviews with local bands and other articles about the local music scene and music fandom in general (guides to purchasing music in local charity shops and how to create a press pack, for example). Priced at 50p, copies were for sale at local gigs, rehearsal rooms and via this website. In November 2009, the ninth and most recent issue of Noisy! was published, celebrating its 4th birthday with a free compilation CD of music from artists that had appeared in the fanzine over the past 4 years.

Several live music events were organised to fund raise for a local homeless charity - three 'Noisy Nights' took place at Chinnery's, Southend featuring bands including: Trash Monroe, The Joint Conspiracy, Zen Motel, Ten Tigers, Rizzo, Anger Is A Gift and Celeste. In 2008, alongside local band Ten Tigers, Noisy! helped organise a live music event for the Brighton Fringe Festival, featuring Southend bands Fashoda Crisis, The Machines and Johnny & The Mullets. In 2010, Noisy! organised a film screening of the fanzine documentary A Hundred Dollars and a T-Shirt as part of the Southend Fringe Festival.

Work is currently underway on the 10th and final issue of Noisy! fanzine which will be published sometime in 2013. To see the old website and order back issues of the fanzine, click here.
